Planetary Aligment

Description

My first space scene, 100% PS 0% gradients. I think the planet being hit is a little too bright for the bright side. I like the texture work I did for this. 4 1/2 hours in Photoshop CS with one waterbreak. Some of the coloring was a little sucky. The blurring was the hardest part.

The stars are much to much the same! IceDracon was correct in saying "a real space scene is supposed to tell a story of evolution, not just some noise on a black backround". Yours doesn't seem to have that feeling to it. Even if the sky wasn't lit up by city lights, or suburban lights, there would still be more range in size, and definitely more range in the opacity and the spread.
I do not believe the "lightning" or whatever it is adds to the picture at all. It is also not going too well with the lighting of the planet it is coming off. The squiggles coming off the lightning doesn't look too natural either.
Also, the typo isn't very pleasing to see at all. Too pixelly and square.
Good try, but the piece just doesn't seem to work very well together >.<
